MARCH 2008
Romans 8:28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are THE CALLED according to his purpose".
You are called with us to pray, to give, and to tell, and we thank God so much for you. This has been a trying month for us personally. Tammy's mother passed away on February 21st, and her cousin passed away just one week before; but God is giving His grace and comfort. We are so thankful to the people at Lavon Drive for their help in getting us home to the family and their prayer for a Christ-honoring service. We are also grateful to the people at Open Bible in Rapid City for their compassion and help in ministering to the family and for giving the gospel to a multitude of our dear friends and beloved family.
The floods are subsiding in Zambia, but the damage reports continue to grow: 12,000 are homeless, 44 schools are damaged and many have collapsed, 80% of the maise crop is lost, and only 50% of the people have access to safe drinking water. We have received a big thank-you from our brothers in Zambia for those who have helped, but there is still a great need. Garden seed is needed to help make up for the lost maise. Cement is needed to repair schools and churches. Coats are needed for the coming winter (30`-40` at night), and medicines are needed for the sick.
We are expecting the school ministry to grow to 50 schools this year. In anticipation of this growth, we have ordered 50 packets of Firm Foundations picture Bible stories for the preacher boys and the ladies to use in that ministry. Each packet will cost $33 and your help would be greatly appreciated by thousands of students and their parents. Please designate your special offerings for a specific project and send them to: Score International, P.O. Box 9994, Chattanooga, TN. 37412.
We are making plans to return to Zambia around the 15th of April. Please pray for a good price on our tickets and for our work permit to be ready for us.
Our prayer for you is that God will enlarge your Vision, Reach, and Faith in 2008.
Love,
Joe and Tammy Haden
